Inspire Placemaking Collective partnered with the St. Augustine Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) to reimagine a 2,000-foot stretch of Cordova Street, one of the City’s most historic corridors. Guided by Inspire’s Greate Streets Framework, the design balances mobility, ecology, and economic vitality. The team divided the corridor into context-specific segments to address distinct local needs and applied targeted strategies such as narrower lanes, landscaped chicanes, and material transitions to calm traffic and enhance walkability. Using coquina stone, brick, and permeable paving, the design reflects St. Augustine’s heritage while integrating stormwater systems and shade for comfort and resilience.
